POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS The Qualify project consortium presents: Suggestions on how to best guide and support Career Coaches DEVELOP LIFELONG CAREER GUIDANCE Career guidance should be a lifelong service aimed at covering all target groups, including adults with low skills. This can be done: Collecting best practices from holistic services Increasing resources Up-skilling the career guidance staff CREATE SYNERGIES WITH RELEVANT SOCIAL PARTNERS To address some of the gaps in the provision of career guidance for adults and for supporting the labour market integration and development of common strategies. This can be done: Informal adult and community education sector Regionally based adult education guidance service Guidance by employer organisations TRAINING FOR QUALIFIED STAFF Ensure that career guidance services are provided by qualified staff who have the ability to tailor the service to the needs and situation of low skilled adults. Provide education & training opportunities to introduce new methods, strategies & tools. This can be done: Building networks Using Qualify materials INTRODUCE NEW, COST EFFICIENT AND SUSTAINABLE INTERVENTIONS This would enable job seekers to develop further networks and harness social capital. This can be done: Piloting of Peer Mentoring among job seekers. The idea of Career Circles TM for career professionals to use with their clients was very well received as part of the Qualify training. .
