[Project Number: 2017-1-SK01-KA204-035385] As to question (4) “Do you think that a different approach from guidance professionals would help you in up-skilling?” participants responded a different orientation would help and that they would like to participate. In question (6) respondents suggested that a different education system is needed, a system that reflects on the needs of the labor market and approaches such as dual or work-based learning. Also different approaches and more focused guidance would be needed. Regarding question (7), respondent would appreciate different communication with them, more kindness and professional approach, as they find themselves in a difficult personal and professional situation. Also, they would welcome an improved information system. An interesting finding is that 3 out of 5 respondents highlighted the need for better (more complete and individualized) assessment methods. With reference to question (8) respondents would appreciate more emphatic and targeted interviews, better profiling/screening exercises and increased information about employment opportunities. They feel under pressure when interviewed by PES and/or guidance professionals. 3.2.2. CYPRUS From the analysis of the interview questions which was conducted with five low-skilled adults, the following were revealed: Regarding questions (1) and (2) which asked whether participants in the interview are employed or unemployed and what are the main reasons of their unemployment, the following results were obtained: - Most of the low-qualified adults do not have a position which is considered high position job but they had opportunities to be employed only in low positions jobs with a low salary such as carpenter, saleswoman. - Most of the responders highlight that the reason they think that they do not have a job is because they do not have a degree from a university or college. They reported that because in Cyprus, most of the people, nowadays study in a university, employers mostly prefer to higher them instead of someone who does not have a degree or professional document stating their skills and knowledge. Additionally, a responder stated that the fact that she does not speak English well is another barrier in finding a job.
