[Project Number: 2017-1-SK01-KA204-035385] 1. INTRODUCTION 1.1. QUALIFY PROJECT Introduction to the context Europe needs a well-educated and qualified workforce to face the economic and competitive challenges of the coming years, at the same time being prepared for the multiple competences to meet the ever-changing occupational demands and roles now and in the future. Low-educated and low-skilled adults are a source that can be empowered to enter jobs with higher demands. However, they not only face a higher risk of unemployment but also a social marginalization or social exclusion due to deteriorating work and life conditions. Unfortunately, unemployment disproportionally affects low- skilled workers. Social exclusion is one of the major concerns of policy makers Europe wide not only for its financial and social effects on personal life but also because social marginalisation and unemployment negatively affects social cohesion, and hinders economic growth. This project aims to revolutionise professional guidance and explore coaching as a tool to support low-skilled unemployed people to reflect on blocks and obstacles in their decision- making. In addition it will support identifying patterns of behaviour from the past that may impact future choices and work as a catalyst in helping them define their own way forward. Qualify is being implemented by an international consortium composed by the following organisations: EUROPERSONAL& SERVIS – coordinator of this project, is a Slovakian modern and dynamic service provider in the field of personnel leasing, human resources and training.
